At Challenge School, we teach Mandarin immersion in the morning and English curriculum in the afternoon. We provide opportunities for children to have fun with language and to develop verbal skills by introducing various activities. We use Zoo-phonics as our phonics foundations. Zoo-phonics combine sound and kinesthetic movement so children can remember the sound of each alphabet easily.
According to NAEYC, social curriculum should be the primary curriculum in the early childhood education. Challenge School put strong focus on social emotional development for a young child. Each month we focus on a character trait. Our teachers discuss the goal and example for the character trait through puppet show, story during the circle time. At the end of the month, our teachers pick a child whom demonstrate the best character trait to be the star of the month.
Through poems, songs, games, art, and daily conversation, children acquire the language at our morning Mandarin Immersion program. All of our Chinese teachers are mostly native speakers with qualified Early Childhood Education training. Challenge School has published four Chinese textbooks consists of 4 volumes: Volume 1&2 for 3-4 year olds, and Volume 3&4 for 4-5 year olds.
The Creative Curriculum® helps educators to create high-quality programs that meet the unique needs of the children and families they serve. Creative curriculum focuses on young children learn best by doing. The physical space of the Creative Curriculum classroom is organized into learning centers: Block Center, Dramatic Play, Art, Literacy, Discovery, Sensory, and Music/Movement.
